I bought the watch about 2 weeks ago after reading many reviews. I was already sold on the Mudman, I was just debating which model. The blackout was my favorite, but I was a little concerned after reading reviews on how hard it is to see the display. I rolled the dice and ordered it; I have no problem seeing it at all.

I also read a lot of reviews about how hard the buttons are to press. They are a little stiff, but I like it like that. I don’t want to bump into something accidentally and change the time on my watch. I rather be sure it takes deliberate effort. Granted, I set my watch and 2 alarms for meds and I don’t plan on changing anything else until the battery needs replacing.

I can’t speak to durability and I don’t plan to beat it up. I just wanted an everyday watch that was stylish and I wouldn’t have to be overly concerned about breaking. This fits the bill and I can save my dress watch for special occassions.

It looks every bit as good in person as it does online. Nice size without being gaudy. Stylish without looking like a kid’s watch.

This watch is similar to an older Casio Pathfinder I have, but much better. I like all of the functions - compass, barometer, altimeter, thermometer, five separate alarms, stopwatch, graph display for barometric pressure and altimeter, and indiglo-type backlight. It did feel quite big and bulky at first, but I quickly got used to it because of my previous, slightly smaller Casio Pathfinder. The price has come down A LOT so I couldn’t pass up the deal. I’m very pleased with my purchase.

I bought this watch because I wanted two things: Atomic timekeeping and solar power. Both work wonderfully.

Additionally, the bi-hourly barometric reading has been more handy than I’d anticipated. I can see, without leaving the comfort of my bed, whether or not it’s going to be a nice day by looking at my wristwatch. How awesome is that?

I’ve used the compass on several occasions while lost in the city (San Francisco). It works as you’d expect a compass to work.

The thermometer is always a bit high, which I suspect is due to it being pressed against my skin. Not sure how one would solve this problem, but I rarely use the thermometer and altimeter anyway. Perhaps if I were to go camping or hiking somewhere like Yosemite, it could be useful. We’ll see.

Overall: This is an extremely useful watch. The alarms ring for 10 seconds, which is enough to wake me up. I only take the watch off to shower. It’s size is perfect, and the face is huge and totally readable. I’d recommend this watch to anyone who wants a good, no-hassle atomic/solar watch.

I received this watch as a gift from my Amazon Wish List and I could not be happier. As a Backpacker and Pilot, this watch ahs the functions that I want and I never have to worry about batteries, winding, or if it is accurate. Although the manual is large, once the watch is set up it is easy to operate and I have not had to refer back to the manual since the first day.

The watch is a bit bulky, but very light. The numbers are very easy to read on the main face for those of us that have passed into our 40’s and need the support of reading glasses, though the text around the face is very small and I can not read it without the assistance of my reading glasses.

One note is that the watch does not do a continuous compass function. It takes a reading and then locks. I guess the point is to take a heading reading on a fixed point. It would be a nice feature if you could choose between continuous compass readings and a read and lock.

I’ve had this particular watch for a while and I wish I had bought it sooner. For the features it offers, it is an absolute steal. I’ve read all the reviews and I feel that a lot of the criticisms are unfounded. Take the temperature readout for example. Everybody complains that it isn’t accurate when worn on the wrist. This feature is fully adjustable. Simply calibrate it to read the right temperature while it’s on your wrist and it will be very accurate. Of course, if you do this, it will only be accurate when you’re wearing it. You can’t have it both ways so take your pick. Another area of complaint is the altimeter. When you are moving from one place to another, the barometric pressure changes, just ask any pilot. That’s why they calibrate their altimeters before every takeoff to insure accuracy. This watch is no different, it must be correctly calibrated in order for it to be reasonably accurate. Yes, there will be some variance but this is normal. The compass, when properly calibrated, will provide very acceptable accuracy and is a useful feature as well. I also saw a complaint about changing the batteries. Some people do not feel comfortable doing this themselves but it’s not really that hard to do. Give me 4 (four) SR927W (399) batteries and a small set of screwdrivers from Radio Shack and I’m done in 20 minutes.
Overall, I’ve been extremely happy with this watch and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Used correctly, it is hard to beat for the price.

This watch works extremely well. It set itself last night and it is accurate to the second (compared to the official US time clock on the internet).

The photo of the skin irritation looks to me like an allergic reaction. Some people have skin contact allergies to chemicals in plastic or rubber. This would affect a few people, but not most. If you think you might be allergic, get the one with the metal band.

I bought this watch for one reason…to find out when sunrise and sunset was.
Not because I’m a hunter or a fisherman, which I’m not, but for photography and
general viewing purposes. It’s nice to watch a sunset or sunrise, and it’s nice
knowing precisely when it is.

I owned this watch for about a year before I realised it had a vibrating function.
True, I am a bone head, and when I first used this function it scarred the living
bejesuses out of me. I’ll tell you a little trick. Set the vibrating buzzer at one
minute intervals for your normal getting up time in the morning and wear the watch to
bed. Don’t worry, you won’t sleep in.

The velcro band is interesting. Partial camouflaging so the animals don’t see your
wrist watch, and has a little leather catch so the velcro band dosn’t rip off when
your scurrying through the scrub, ducking and weaving dangerous game. Of course having
set the vibrating buzzer to alarm you when game is on the move, otherwise an audible
alarm would scare them off and you would have to have takeaway that night for dinner
instead of a bear burger.

It has all the bells and whistles you would expect from a Casio, and the moon phase indicator
has more moon info than most other moon phase watches. The telememo, although I don’t use it,
is there to record your catch of deer, bears and big red kangaroos. Don’t eat them all at once.

I think this is a fun watch not to be taken seriously and would make a great addition to anyones watch collection.

I bought this watch about 3 months ago and I have been testing if every single day since. The testings had taken place both in North America and Europe. I am not a pilot or a climber or any of this type of professionals, I am just an amateur who bought it for occasional use.
The watch does exactly what it says and how it says. The time works perfect, stopwatch awesome, calendar wonderful, solar battery holds very well (both in the light and in the dark), connection to the “atomic center” is easy and fast, hand-wrist great (I had to remove a couple of links - no problem), water resistance is functioning great.
The temperature is a little off (+/-2 Celsius as it specifies in the manual). It takes the thermometer quite a long time to stabilize and reach the right temperature (when switching abruptly from inside to outside environment). The barometer needed calibration and works well for amateurs (not for professionals - as it is already mentioned in the manual). Compas is working accurately. Daylight savings work well as well as you stay in North America. Once you get to Europe the automatic (and I say automatic only) daylight savings works for Europe only. It looses the automation function for North America. The manual (and I say manual) set up is working great for both continents. The hand-wrist scratches pretty easily, but if you are careful it should be no concern.
Overall it is a great product and I am happy I got it. As a non-pro I give it 5 stars.
